Military Spouse Entrepreneur Alliance
Military spouse un- and underemployment represents a national crisis for military families today. Costing American taxpayers an estimated $1.2 BILLION dollars per year, military spouse employment is a key area of focus for the Department of Defense. Listed as one of the top reasons active-duty members chose to leave service, this crisis affects mission readiness and the financial stability of today’s military families. To address this issue and promote entrepreneurship as a viable employment option, The Rosie Network joined forces with the SBA’s Office of Veteran Business Development, the Office of Secretary of Defense, Military Spouse Employment Program, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Hiring our Heroes, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and other nonprofit and corporate leaders in the founding of the Military Spouse Entrepreneur Alliance.
