Stephanie Brown

Military Spouse / Founder and CEO, The Rosie Network

As CEO of The Rosie Network, Stephanie Brown has appeared on national FOX News, CBS, the CW and has been featured in Woman’s Day magazine, The New York Times, Business Insider, U.S. Veterans magazine, Military Spouse magazine, and the San Diego Business Journal. She has been named:

  • 2018 SBA Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year
  • 2017 Ten Most Influential Military Spouse Business Owners
  • 2017 HillVets 100 awardee
  • 2016 Innovator of the Year by Our City San Diego magazine

Stephanie is a nationally recognized subject matter expert and sought after speaker on Military Families and Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Spouse Ambassador Network and is a founding affiliate partner of the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business (CVOB) with Fortune 100 companies including Disney, USAA, Walmart, Johnson & Johnson, Enterprise Holdings, American Express, Apple and Lockheed Martin.

A successful small business owner herself, Stephanie founded The Rosie Network in 2012 to Empower, Impact and Advocate on behalf of our nation’s veteran and military spouse small business owners and budding entrepreneurs. In 2016, The Rosie Network opened San Diego’s first shared office incubator, the Military Entrepreneur Development Center (MEDC), which houses Service2CEO, an individualized business development program for active-duty, veterans and military spouses looking to launch and grow a small business in San Diego. The Rosie Network was awarded the SBA’s national Growth Accelerator Award for Excellence.

The Rosie Network also hosts ROSIE’S LIST, a national search tool named after the WWII iconic figure, Rosie the Riveter. Rosie’s List is the nation’s largest searchable database of verified veteran and military spouse-owned companies with over 15,000 members across the country. This service is free and military members may use their Rosie Business Profile as a website complete with photo gallery, contact form and shopping cart.

In 2018, The Rosie Network partnered with Blue Star Families to launch ROSIE CHAPTERS around the country, serving military spouses seeking to launch and grow a small business. This initiative is especially important to Stephanie as a military spouse herself. “Our military spouses are the silent warriors behind the men and women in uniform, yet they continue to hold one of the highest unemployment and under-employment rates in the country. Entrepreneurship can change that by offering a portable career and the means to build financial stability for themselves and their families,” says Stephanie.

Stephanie has taught entrepreneurship and homebased business classes around the country and overseas. She is the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, spouse of retired Rear Admiral Thomas L. Brown II (SEAL) and mother of two boys. Stephanie has received numerous awards during her husband’s military career, including the Department of the Army Commanders Award for Civilian Service presented by Brigadier General Remo Butler, Commander, Special Operations Command SOUTH.
